May day in the forest

Dear May, how I've missed you. Finally, you're here.
You bring forth flowers and sunshine. And you shower us with two bank holidays. Two bank holidays in one month!
This is why I love you, May.

On the first bank holiday I spent most of the day in the forest behind the cottage, with Mark and Tommy.

Tommy loved the freedom of the forest and running around to his heart's content.

We searched for sticks, one of Tommy's favourite games.

Tommy found an old tyre on an abandoned piece of farming equipment, which made a great noise against his stick.

Bluebells are appearing everywhere. Especially in the forest.

The forest is home to a giant snake. Don't worry folks, it's only a pretend one!

And the Gruffulo lives deep in the forest too. He comes out now and then to say hello, and pose for photographs

How lucky we are to have such a magical place, practically on our doorstep.

YES!!! This is why I love where you live. :-) Just looking at the photos make me more calm - like they're telling me to slow down and smell the roses. :-D

Glad they had a calming affect. It's a great place to spend time in.
